Teaching

I have developed and taught courses in Rural Sociology, Economic Development, Sociology of Tourism, Community Engagement and Development, and more. My first priority as an educator is to activate and cultivate imagination for learners. This means encouraging self-reflection, providing space for deep thinking, and giving them the tools to not only critique society, but also to translate that critique into transformative action. My teaching is rooted in place-based knowledge and in real-world case studies, and I strive to make the classroom a collaborative, positive environment.Â
